A wiki is ideal for downloading people's know how and helping others understand how to do things.
You might consider having someone clean up the contributions so that they are easy to understand, action etc.
(BTW, I met a sys admin at the LondonGirlGeekDinners a couple of weeks who mentioned they use a wiki for everything... saves having to remember it or find it again on the web)
