I'm still learning on this one. Here's what I'm experimenting with.
1. Use Status updates to broadcast to the world at large what you want them to know about you, what you're sharing, etc.
2. Really think hard about who might be interested in helping you with your mission... on the basis what goes around, comes around. This of course means that you need to be committed to those you help.
3. Prepare your questions as though you were having a conversation.
I'd start with some simple yes/no questions to gauge interest and time.
(Happy to help you frame your conversation if you'd like to test the waters).
4. Listen to the advice you're given - suspend any judgements you have that it won't work for you. Just give it a go before you do anything else.
