I love this sort of challenge. I'm not sure I can come up with one which will be on the mark, so I'll tell you the HOW I would come up with it.
1. Brainstorm metaphors for mentoring and career based on similar words
mentor: adviser, coach, counsellor, guide, instructor, teacher, trainer, tutor
career: bag*, calling, course, dodge*, employment, field, game*, job, lifework, livelihood, number*, pilgrimage, profession, pursuit, racket*, specialty, thing*, vocation, work
other words which spring to mind words - combine with another word (perhaps a BRAND/organisational one) : impacts, positive (are two suggestions for me.
2. Look for ways of combining the two lists. "vocational coaching" and "lifeworks" appeal to me.
3. Pull a couple of people together, go through a couple of creative exercises (try Think Like a Genius for ideas). Then have a play with them.
I like to "play with words"; you'll have to decide how appropriate this would be for you.
Another approach is to look at what other mentoring programmes are called.
"Business in the Community" is one of the programmes here linking professionals with non-profit organisations.
Perhaps something like "The Business of HR" might inspire some thoughts from someone.
A quick search on "mentor program" yielding a myriad of results including the link below - if you scroll down, you'll see the names of all the mentoring programmes - "Let's Do Lunch" appealed to me - perhaps they will spark off some more thoughts.
Good luck - and please let me know what you decide to go with!
All the best,
Alison
