First of all, I believe happiness is a decision. All one needs to do is to develop positive habit forming exercises to stay in this frame of mind regardless of the turbulence surrounding them.
I recommend transcental meditation. This will help you "switch off the noise", provide your brain the rest it needs to focus and energy to deal with the challenges you face. It's easy to learn and practice.
