This is not my field, so I spent 2 minutes searching the internet for an overview. Here's my "quick result"
1. Look on Wikipedia - the following sections has a few acronyms to get you started. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Information_security#Professionalism
2. Search Linkedin in - GOOGLE the following string:
CISSP | ISSAP | ISSEP | ISSMP |CISM + security -inurl/dir/ -inurl/companies/ -inurl/answers/
I spotted that there are a couple of groups - join and you should spot some of the buzz words. From public profiles of the people who have used the acronyms I picked up from the first step you can get an idea of specialities, technologies.
Also, looking at some of the profiles will give you an idea of the kinds of career paths which develop a Senior Information Security specialist.
That should get you started - no doubt you'll want to verify it with one of the professionals.
Hope this helps.
All the best,
Alison
