What is the best book you have ever read? How did it impact your life? Why would you say that?

Alison's Contribution:

The author who has had the most profound effect on my professional life is Peter Senge.

The two books I read and continue to dip into:

1990, The Fifth Discipline: The art and practice of the learning organization, Doubleday, New York, 1990.

1994, The Fifth Discipline Fieldbook, Strategies for Building a Learning Organization

I've worked on projects for most of my career. The techniques, tools and stories from Peter Senge help me get teams to work together. They are a fundamental part of my toolkit.

Learning to do things better is part and parcel of the tenet of each project. I believe developing the learning organisation is the best competitive advantage a company can target to see it through any type of market condition.

Hope this helps in some small way.

All the best,

Alison
