Is there such a thing as a bar coded business card holder and reader?

Most of the seminars I've been to over the last few years use a system which

1. Bar codes the participants (suppliers, exhibitors and attendees) - eg registration
2. Provides the passes to everyone with said barcode
2. Provides scanners to register visits at booths
3. Links that database to register appoints during the exhibit
4. Links with exhibitor databases for follow up actions

I recommend checking with the main exhibition halls or conference organisers to see what they use.
