I think it depends on how good a project manager you are already. I sat my exams with just a quick set of preparation. Foundation multiple choice; Practitioner 3 hour written exam.
1. Is it achievable to clear the practitioner exam straight away without appearing for foundation exam? You have to take the foundation exam - even if it's on the same day (at least when I did it)
2. Is self study enough to clear the examinations? Yes - albeit focused and using practice tests to prepare. Also ensure that you can WRITE for 2.5 hours without getting cramps...
3. Are their any intangible benefits from attending any of the accredited training programs? Don't know, I didn't take them.
Other: Buy the Books, tab them, highlight the important bits and make sure you bring them with you... you'll need to quote the prescribed theory and how you would put it into practice.
