Part Two is easiest:
I would want to find in relation to where I'd be working:
- Traffic Patterns (Congestion Blackspots & Bottlenecks Bridges/Work/ Sport/Entertainment etc) and Public Transport options
- Weather & Environmental
- Utility options
- Crime Patterns - where is safe, where is not
- Schools, Chidcare & Recreation Facilities
- Entertainment & Shopping incl Music, Theatre, Art, etc..
- Real Estate Value for Money - which areas were up & coming, new vs old, trendy vs comfort, tech built in etc.
What would be useful to find on a real estate site
- Relocation services
- Community info/Maps Locations - eg Kansas City Kansas vs Missouri
- Commuting times (peak and off-peak hours etc)
- Tax Differences living/purchasing in one state or the
other (assuming there are some)
Part One: Search Terms - at least how I have spent three minutes.
1. Google Earth - I've chosen 64111-2416 because it
was the first employer's zip code I could find.
2. "relocating to kansas city" yielded - l (you might learn something from their site about the kinds of information they provide to get a page one result)
http://www.kansas-city-home.com/kansas.htm
- http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/
- http://www.prukc.com/Relocating/ToKC.aspx
Given the information I just found in under three minutes, I'd think about my options and the costs associated with each
- buy before I moved
- rent whilst trying to sell/looking
- investment options
Part Three: How I would choose:
1. Earn my trust.
2. Establish a service with the company relocating me.
If I was moving to Kansas, I'd want to find someone who could HELP ME.
